Ring us
02 4214 4283 — seven days, 6.30am to 7.00pm.
If it goes to voicemail, leave your name, your suburb and which room it is, and you will get a call back.
Or send the details
The enquiry form on this page goes straight through. The more of the list below you include, the more useful the first call is.
What is worth telling us
- Your suburb. Shell Cove, Flinders, Albion Park, Oak Flats, Warilla, Barrack Heights or anywhere else in Shellharbour City.
- Which room. Main bathroom, ensuite, small or second bathroom, laundry, or an investment property.
- House, townhouse or unit. For strata properties, whether you have spoken to the strata manager yet.
- Roughly how old the place is. "Fibro, probably sixties" is plenty. It decides whether asbestos testing is part of the scope.
- Timber floor or slab, if you happen to know.
- What is wrong. Leaking, mouldy, cramped, soft underfoot, or simply dated and outgrown.
- Who uses it. If anyone needs a step-free shower, a rail or a seat now or soon, say so — it changes decisions made at rough-in.
- For an investment property, when the current lease ends.
- Photos. The room, the ceiling above the shower, under the vanity, and anything that looks damaged.
Why we come and measure
Two bathrooms the same size can be thousands of dollars apart. Sheeting that needs testing, floor framing that an old shower has been leaking onto, supply pipework narrowed by rust, a long carry up a sloping block, strata hours — none of it shows up on the phone, and all of it changes the number.
The measure takes about half an hour. Ask whatever you like while we are there, including for the builder's licence and insurance details.
What happens after
- A written quote, itemised, with fittings named by model, a stated tile allowance and allowances for what an older house hides.
- Time to think it over and compare it properly against anything else you have. No pressure and no follow-up every second day.
- Selections locked and materials ordered before a start date is set, because late ordering is the main cause of delay.
- Approvals sorted where they are needed — strata, or council and certifier matters.
- A program in working days, not "about a month".
If water is coming through right now
Turn off the tap or the shower feeding the leak. If you are in a unit and water may be reaching the apartment below, tell your strata manager straight away. Then ring and say it is actively leaking, so the measure gets brought forward.
Before you ring
If you want a ballpark first, what it costs has three broad guide tiers and the factors that move a price within them. Questions covers deposits, asbestos, mould, strata and second bathrooms. Stage by stage tells you how long you lose the room for.

Questions people ask before they commit
How quickly will someone get back to me?
Usually the same day, or first thing the next morning if the enquiry lands late in the evening. The first call is short: your suburb, which room, house or unit, and roughly how old the place is. That is enough to work out what the measure needs to look at.
Is the measure really free, and is there any obligation?
Free anywhere in Shellharbour City Council's area, and no obligation at all. If the honest answer is that a partial update suits you better than a full renovation, you will be told that at the measure rather than sold a strip-out.
Can you quote from photos instead?
Photos are genuinely useful and we would like them, but they cannot replace the visit. What matters most — the floor type, the condition under and behind the shower, the supply pipework, the ventilation path and the access — does not appear in a photo.
Do you work weekends?
Measures are booked at a time that suits you, weekends included. Work on site generally runs on weekdays, and in a strata building the hours are usually set by the owners corporation by-law rather than by us.
